Sister's Island Perfomance Visuals

CONTEXT

Sisters Islands are two of the Southern Islands of Singapore and a famous urban legend told since long ago of 2 sisters, Minah and Linah who were so close to each other that even threats from pursuing pirates never deterred them from being away from each other eventually choosing to end their own lives side by side at the sea amidst its turbulent weather, at a place we Singaporean now call the Sisters' Island.

CHALLENGE

Together with the live orchestral performance by Ding Yi Music company, I had create accompanying visuals that suits to the music and also fit the overall aesthetics to our audience that will be coming to watch the performance, primary school children aged 7 to 12.

EXECUTION

My approach was playing with layering to give depth with textures to emulate a "real-life" look together with the addition of characters to play the role of protagonists and antagonists in the animation, such as in the cartoons that children watch.
