NDP SG50 Onwards

CONTEXT

Every year,  Singapore celebrate our new year in the form of a live performance showcasing our military, dances, songs and many more in the form of a Singapore National Day Parade. SG50 is even more special as it is the year where we celebrate a milestone, our 50th anniversary since our independence. Within a team of 16, I had the opportunity to work on the Chapter 6: Onwards section during my final year of my diploma.

CHALLENGE

The visuals shown will be a large scale projection on one of the widest screens ever created, if not the widest in the world at that time with tens of long range projectors projecting all at once.

EXECUTION

We went for an experimental abstract approach to the visuals with different themes and colors that match the color of performers during each sub-segment. Our main focus was using geometric forms and by using neon hi-tech aesthetics to the overall 3D elements, giving off the impression that as a whole state we are always looking onwards towards our future.
